The Happy Cities Forum 2025, sponsored by the Oriental Outlook weekly of Xinhua News Agency, was held in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province on Dec. 9. The forum released its 2025 lists of Happiest Cities in China, where Taicang was honored as the Happiest City (County-level) for the 14th time, topping the list of county-level cities for 10 consecutive years.
To date, the Happy Cities Forum has been held for 19 consecutive sessions. This year’s “Happiest Cities in China” survey and selection involved big data collection, questionnaire survey, material submission, on-site research and expert review.
Over the years, Taicang has made continuous efforts to advance urban development, industrial growth, scientific and technological innovation, and social governance in a coordinated manner. It is committed to building itself into a happy city with high-quality development characterized by urban-rural integration and industry-city integration.
In the future, Taicang will actively seize the opportunities brought by the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region and make unswerving efforts to drive the high-quality economic and social development and further enhance the people’s sense of gain and happiness.
